Do A Barrel Roll Twice — Why Once Was Never Enough
Google's famous barrel roll Easter egg only ever spins the page once. For many people, that single 360° rotation leaves them wanting more — it is over in about 1.2 seconds, often before you fully register what happened. Doing a barrel roll twice solves that problem perfectly: two complete rotations, 720 total degrees, roughly 2.4 seconds of spinning.
The double roll is the natural next step after discovering the Google trick. It is the most-requested variation precisely because it scratches the "do it again" itch without going overboard. Two rotations is enough to appreciate the motion fully while still feeling snappy and clean.
The "Z or R Twice" Connection
There is a delightful coincidence here: the alternate phrase that triggers Google's barrel roll is "z or r twice." That phrase comes from Star Fox 64, where you double-tap the Z or R button to make Fox McCloud's Arwing perform the roll. So in a sense, doing a barrel roll twice is the most faithful tribute to the original — a double-tap producing a double roll.

How the Double Barrel Roll Works
